About Us

“In 1991 Grace Luckey bred her female Papillon, Luck-EE Libra of Jherico CD, to my male, Ch Bloom-Ans Windsurfer. This resulted in the outstanding producing bitch Ch MGL Dance Smartly of Jherico DOD. This started the MGL line. When it comes to breeding, Grace had phenomenal sense in choosing the right combination.

In 1997 Grace and I bred ”Smarty” to Bonnie Primus’ male, CH Arbeitsheim Montery Man. That breeding resulted in two bitch puppies. I placed one of these puppies under a co-ownership with Carlisle, new to the show world at that time. The puppy became CH MGL Blushing K-D of VW CD DOM “Callie” our foundation bitch.

My experience showing and breeding dogs spanned many years before I became involved with Papillons. In 1955 I purchased my first German Shepherd Dog. This dog became the first UDT in the state of Washington. Since that time I have trained, exhibited and bred several Champions with obedience titles. Some time in the Mid 60s I bought a male miniature poodle. He became a breed Champion and BIS dog as well as having obedience titles.

I saw Paige as a puppy at the 1989 national that was held in Seattle, Wa. I fell in love with that Papillon puppy and since that time I have had Papillons only.”

“ In 1995 I obtained my first Papillon. I was completely taken with this little dog and although he was a pet and was neutered, I have been determined to preserve in the breed the wonderful qualities that he exhibited.

My second Papillon came from Betty in 1997. That was “Callie” CH MGL Blushing K-D of VW. I owe so much to Betty as my mentor for her willingness to work with me as a partner, sharing her many years of experience and always acknowledging my input.

Callie’s first litter of puppies really started me off. I have worked with our dogs in obedience and have shown occasionally in conformation. However, my main role in our breeding partnership has been to raise well socialized happy puppies.”
